A tribute to colourful nature

The tiger, orangutan and other wild animals fascinate children with their independent lives in colourful nature. You’ll find them in our URSKOG/DJUNGELSKOG textile collections which are made from materials like sustainable cotton, and lyocell and polyester made from recycled plastic. This is our tribute to all the beautiful animals throughout the world which are endangered. With our duvet covers, towels and other textiles, all children can get to know these animals up close.

What is cotton?

Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibres. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilisers and water.

Environment

IKEA has banned the use of chlorine bleaching agents in the production of textiles and paper products due to the negative impact on the environment. IKEA has strict requirements for the use of phthalates in all our products, and we have totally banned them in children’s and food-contact products. Since 1996 IKEA has banned harmful dyestuffs, e.g. azo dyes, in textile and leather production. The cotton in this product is grown with less water, less chemical fertilizers and less chemical pesticides, while increasing profit margins for the farmers. That way, we lower our environmental impact. By using a renewable material like cotton in this product, we avoid using fossil or finite materials.

Care instructions

Machine wash, max 60°C, normal process.
Do not bleach.
Tumble drying, normal temperature (max 80°C).
Iron, max 200°C.
Do not dryclean.
