No Limits When It Comes to Chasing Dreams – Chee-Leung from IKEA Neihu Store
I joined IKEA at the age of 57, starting from scratch with a beginner’s mindset — and wrote 750 pages of notes in just six months. With the support of my manager, teammates, and my buddy, I gradually adapted to the workplace. Now, I’ve become the oldest Management Trainee in IKEA Taiwan’s history. It’s truly exhausting at times, but at 60, I’m still being seen for my potential. I can still dream — and that makes me feel fulfilled.

PT is not only a part-time job
After leaving and rejoining IKEA, I realized that other companies don't truly implement cultural values like IKEA does. As a PT, I can participate in training and learn many things. I can also volunteer to be a buddy for new hires. Supervisors don't ignore your voice just because you're a PT; we can brainstorm and try new methods. Plus, employees enjoy free parking, which is fantastic.
Not just any second home – but one that truly feels right. – Karty from IKEA Xindian Store
Midlife career changes weren’t easy — I hit many walls along the way. But after joining IKEA, I finally felt understood and respected. Here, I’ve found a true sense of belonging, thanks to my manager and colleagues who genuinely care and support me like family. To myself and to all mature job seekers, I want to say: “Age is not a limitation. As long as you’re willing to try, there’s nothing you can’t do.” While caring for my family is still my life’s priority, IKEA has truly become my second home.

Warmth and Support in the Workplace.
During my four years at XDS, my main responsibility was organizing small yellow bags at the cashier line. Prior to joining the company, I experienced some health issues, but both my supervisors and colleagues were very supportive. During busy holidays, everyone would lend a hand and help each other. I really enjoy the company's frequent activities, which create a joyful and warm working atmosphere for us.

A Familial Workplace
My cousin works at IKEA, and I joined after my military service because the company shows great respect for everyone. Within the company, we all work towards the same goal, regardless of department or gender, and there is no discrimination or bias. I can even operate a forklift. IKEA is willing to invest in its employees, sending us to other stores for learning opportunities.
