The paints and pens in the MÅLA series are tested and non-toxic, but should not be used for face or body painting.

The paint will leave permanent stains on most surfaces and materials, however, immediately washing the area with soap and lukewarm water may give good results.

Paint! Cut! Draw! The MÅLA series has everything your child needs to let their imagination and creativity flow. Paintbrushes with untreated wooden handles that give good grip, scissors made to fit tiny hands, and colours that are easy to mix and wash off. No nagging your child to put the cap back on – our felt-tip pens survive a full 3 days without caps. Everything’s non-toxic, of course. Because we care as much about the next generation of creative minds as you do.

What is PE plastic?

PE, or polyethylene, is a versatile plastic with many uses. It can be soft and flexible as well as tough and strong. At IKEA we use PE for things like plastic bags, freezer bags, ice packs and chopping boards. A big reason why we like this plastic is that it can be made from renewable raw materials like corn and sugar cane.
